It’s currently 58 degrees fahrenheit outside,
But I can’t resist the sunshine.
The warmest place is in the sun’s ray,
The warmest place is where I will stay.
I prose and meditate as I look at the sun,
From beneath my closed eyelids a poem begun.
I feel the breeze begin to cut thru my sun’s ray.
For a moment from the cold I shutter way.
Eyes still closed I feel the sun’s warmth return,
And to my prose I also return.
Something about dancing in the light,
The brightness of summer and everything right,
To dwell on all the beauty in life,
Over-thinking everything wonderful, everything nice.
The sun dips behind the horizon,
Ending this day, ending this poem.
