The Contrast

The past two days where the best days of my life, not to say that today wasn’t an exceptional day. But there are just those day when you are vibeing high and one thing after another, after another goes right actually for once. You feel like you can conquer the world, you become your very own hero. I am very grateful to have that last for the last two days. Especially when I can remember that I’ve gone through long periods of time feeling the very opposite of that. Feeling very worthless and low and depressed and sad and all the bummed out feelings one could list. Having two consecutive great days is almost a miracle.

I intend to hang on to that, even in the face of contrast. Contrast is the opposite of everything going right and you can call it a test, life’s ups and downs, trials, having a bad day or what ever but at the moment I am calling it contrast. It is a lesson and an oppertunity. I can get mad and let this contrast drag me down into a mean angry, person who is sad and upset. Or I can feel the disappointment and be thankful. That disappointment shows me that I still have standards , and values that I up hold. I can choose right now, in this time of contrast to learn from what I’m going through, listen for the lesson and grow by applying what I have learned. Contrast shows you what you don’t want and when you understand that. You can therefore put all your energy into focusing on what you do want.

It’s a blessing in disguise. This contrast thing can teach you alot about how to do better, how to be a better person and make better choices. Be thankful for the contrast in life, it can be just as rewarding as when thing go well.
