Day 6 Decluttering Your Digital Space.

In this age of digital devices this is actually a thing. Another space, to take the time to make space on your devices as well. These devices play an integral part of my life, replacing where telegrams and letter writing note taking and memorization once were. Now there is an app and a device for all of that.

Simplifying your life is supposed to get in to every nock and cranny and aspect of daily life. I know I can speak for the rest of the world when I say that my life can tend to be on my digital space alot of the time. Mostly my phone.

Check out the video on decluttering your digital space by Muchelleb on YouTube here, for more clarity if alot of your work is on a computer space. In the meantime, here, I will focus on my phone since I literally live through my phone with reminders and note and messages and emails and the list goes on and on.

The first thing I did was organize my apps. Uninstalled anything I haven’t used in forever and apps that are like a duplicate of another. Second I went in on my contacts and deleted anyone I no longer talk to, and any people who has changed their number and I still had the old number or previous. Third I went through and deleted super old and super unimportant message threads. I also removed old downloads that I haven’t gone back to, and did the same with photos and notes on memos or calendars.

It is nice to put your home screen in order too, maybe if it applys you can put like apps together in folders. Once I was done, I went ahead and updated pending apps as well.

Over all today, it took a while to get my digital space in order, but it was defiantly worth it. It’s important also, to celebrate all your accomplishing, even the smallest of tasks. Every step taken toward your goals or desired outcome is a big deal and should be acknowledged. So for completing my task today, I got myself a pint of ice cream. Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough flavor.🎉
